The Ceramic Butter Keeper, called a "Butter Bell" in France, keeps butter fresh—and spreadable—at room temperature for up to 30 days without refrigeration.
Add 1/2 cup cold water to the bottom of the bell, then invert the butter filled top into the container. The water seals out the air, keeping the butter soft and sweet. The Butter keeper is 4" tall by 3 3/4" and holds one stick (1/4 pound) of butter. This old-fashioned method of keeping butter fresh will add even more enjoyment (is this possible?!) to eating butter from pastured cows.

Note: It may be necessary to refrigerate your butter keeper when the temperature gets very warm, about 90 degrees. Or you can try putting a little ice in the water.
