Food Rules is author Michael Pollan's most recent book. Published in late 2009, it contains 64 simple rules—one per page— to help you uncomplicate your eating.

Drawn from a variety of cultures, these rules are based on enduring wisdom about what and how you should eat. The rules are easy to remember and follow—for kids or adults. Here are some examples:

Rule 21: "It's not food if it's called by the same name in every language. (Think Big Mac, Cheetos, or Pringles.)"

Rule 37: "The whiter the bread, the sooner you'll be dead."

This is a small (4.5x7 inches), lightweight book that you can easily carry with you, either to the supermarket or the all-you-can-eat buffet. A great teaching tool for parents to help their kids eat better as well.

Paperback. 2009. 140 pages.
